Bio
The Terry Crawford Band was formed in Winnipeg in 1971. Original members, Terry Crawford and Rick Johnson relocated to Toronto in 1977, adding keyboard player, Dale Saunders that same year. This trio has been the nucleus of the band since then. Bassist Jim Elder joined in 1981 while the band was recording their Good Girl Gone Bad album. Long-time friend, Peter Griffin (drums) joined in 2019 to round out the current roster,
The Terry Crawford Band recorded 4 albums in the 1980’s and a fifth in 2010. Terry received two JUNO nominations and was described by the Toronto Star as “a singer of extraordinary depth and power with a voice that blends the anxious rasp of Kim Carnes and the bluesy gusto of a tough saloon singer”. This group of friends love music! They love to create it, perform it, engage an audience and most of all, have fun! That’s what they have done and continue to do since the ‘70’s!
The surprise success of their songs “Gunfighter” and “Chocolate Candy” in 2017 in dance clubs across Europe led to a renewed interest in the band. This led Sony Music to release the Good Girl Gone Bad album on all digital formats in 2018. As the rest of their music has never been available digitally, Terry and Rick decided to get back in their studio with Dale, Jim and Peter to revisit their past musical catalogue. Together, they selected 12 songs that were favourites from radio and live performances and they have re-recorded them so that they can be available to today’s audience.
The new album is called “One Time for Old Times”, and The Terry Crawford Band looks forward to being back before live audiences again in 2024!
